Where are our materials sourced?

At Unifi Canada, we pride ourselves on creating fashionable scrubs from recycled materials... but where do our materials come from? Our textiles are made from fabrics that are sourced from landfills, dumpsites, recycling plants, and of course, donations. First, we disassemble the remains of any clothing pieces separating them and their accessories (zippers, buttons, laces). Then, we utilize a process called shredding. Shredding is where we use mechanical devices to actually pull apart the material and shorten the fibres. The materials are then ready to be repurposed via our scrubs.

We at Unifi Canada believe that we need to do our part to help hit the brakes on climate change and waste accumulation. We hope to help end or lessen the impacts of fast fashion by integrating a cycle of reuse for all of our products. Hopefully companies in different sectors will follow suit and begin fabricating their garments from recycled materials.
